Live, Laugh, Love

Embarking on my relationship with Kim was like stepping into a whole new life; full of color, adventure and unlimited possibilities. We met amazing new friends together and surrounded ourselves with people who brought out the best in both of us! However, a huge reminder of how precious life was came when a close friend of ours, Jeff Elo, passed away unexpectedly. His wife, Tiffany, his family and all our mutual friends who knew him were devastated. I wanted to help the grieving process for his family and friends, so I decided the best thing I could do is write a song in honor of his life.

Up to this point, the songs I had written for other people were all girls I was in relationship with – even if only briefly. I had never considered writing a song dedicated to someone in the realm of grief or loss. For me, there were no words to speak; only music. I had to write; for my grieving process. I wanted Jeff’s song to tell the story of a brilliant, exciting life. So there are sections of upliftment and amazement, along with parts expressing sorrow and struggle. I believe the song helped bring some healing to those who knew him, and for that gift, I am grateful. “Live, Laugh, Love” was the theme of Jeff and Tiffany’s wedding and their life together. And that is exactly how I think of him now; embracing and enjoying life. Choosing to Live fully, Laugh fully and Love fully! Thank you, Jeff!
